Greenock Medical Aid Society (GMAS) is a long-standing charitable organisation dedicated to enhancing the lives of older people through compassionate, high-quality care. Founded in 1798, GMAS has a proud history of serving the community of Inverclyde, evolving over the centuries to meet the changing needs of local residents.Â
As a registered charity, GMAS operates Bagatelle Care Home in Greenock, providing professional nursing care in a warm, homely environment. Rooted in strong values of dignity, respect and community, GMAS continues to uphold its mission of delivering person-centred support that promotes well-being, independence, and a true sense of belonging.

Life at Bagatelle Care Home
Life at Bagatelle is built around comfort, companionship, and a sense of belonging. Residents live in small group settings, enjoying both privacy and community. Whether relaxing in our beautiful lounges, joining in with local school visits and events, or simply enjoying the spectacular Clyde views, every day is an opportunity for connection and joy.
Our historic home, dating back to 1841, has been lovingly modernised to offer:

- Three communal lounges
- Dedicated treatment and relaxation rooms

- Three lifts providing full access to all areas
New Service
Respite Rehab Service For Post-Operative Clients
GMAS is excited to introduce a new respite rehab service in collaboration with McFarlane Physiotherapy, aimed at delivering specialised physiotherapy care for people aged 60 and above who are recuperating from knee, hip, or spinal surgeries, as well as those recovering from significant illnesses or experiencing frequent falls.
This service provides a comfortable residential environment, enabling individuals to concentrate on their recovery within a supportive and nurturing 24-hour nursing setting.
